Denver Broncos player Andrew Beck chooses FSD for My Cause My Cleats

Denver Broncos fullback/tight end Andrew Beck stopped by Freedom Service Dogs in October for a tour of our facility and some quality cuddle time with our tiny service dog trainees. Andrew, who grew up in a military family, is a strong supporter of military service members and organizations that benefit the brave men and women of our armed services.

During his visit, Andrew met with one of our 2019 graduating teams, U.S. Army veteran Cory and his service dog, Opus. Cory surprised Andrew with a card announcing that he has been named the Broncos’ nominee for the 2021 Salute to Service Award presented by USAA. Thanks to the positive impression that Freedom Service Dogs has made on Andrew due to our work providing custom-trained service dogs to veterans and active-duty military, he has chosen to support FSD this year for My Cause My Cleats—an annual event in which NFL players pick a cause that is important to them and represent their chosen organization on custom-designed cleats. Andrew will be showing off his FSD-branded cleats during the Broncos game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 5, 2021.

We’re proud to report that Andrew was so sufficiently smitten with our smallest service dog hopefuls that he returned to FSD on Nov. 9 to spend a few hours volunteering in Puppy Kindergarten with two of our older pups, followed by helping out with laundry, washing dishes, stuffing KONGS, and cleaning kennels.

We are incredibly grateful to Andrew for his enthusiastic support of our mission and for the huge honor of being selected for My Cause My Cleats. Watch for Andrew and his FSD cleats on Dec. 5—and GO BRONCOS!
