Meet Our Newest Graduates: Fall 2021

Fall is starting off fantastically, with three great new teams graduating from FSD in September. Congratulations to this terrific trio for their hard work and good cheer, and we wish them all the best!

Christie & Zuke

Christie has physical limitations and mobility impairment due to lower-limb amputations following a motorcycle accident. She is a first-time FSD client, although she has had two previous service dogs, including Montana, who recently retired. Zuke will be helping load Christie’s wheelchair into her van, retrieving items, pushing down a stubborn recliner footrest, and learning the ropes from big brother Montana. This team is sponsored by Dr. Marty Pets.

Brynn & Pumpkin

Brynn is a graduate of the University of Denver’s Human-Animal-Environment Interactions in Social Work master’s certificate program. Professional therapy dog Pumpkin will be at Brynn’s side as she works with elementary-age children in schools and participants in a local equine therapy program. Outside her 9-to-5 routine, Pumpkin will be putting time in on the hiking trails with Brynn and hanging out with her sister dog, Java. This team is sponsored by Halliburton.

Chris & Reef

Chris is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired police officer who experiences PTSD and limitations to his mobility due to injuries sustained while serving in Iraq. Chris and Reef are equally excited to be starting their new life together in Nebraska, where Chris lives with his wife and two daughters. Reef has been custom trained to relieve the symptoms of PTSD for his veteran. This team is sponsored by AnnieMac Home Mortgage.
