FSD is collecting fruits and vegetables! We are starting a new program to bring more variety into our dogs’ diets! Vegetables and fruits provide many health benefits and can be great way to ensure the dogs get the essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, fiber, and phytonutrients they need to be happy and healthy.

We are accepting fresh fruit and veggies, and also produce that is a little too overripe or wilted for your liking. Please no rotten or spoiled food. If you have some produce that is about to go bad, throw it in the freezer and bring it on over to FSD when you are here next! Have an extra stalk of celery and carrot you didn’t use in that recipe? Drop it off at FSD for the dogs to enjoy! Here is a list of the fruits and veggies that are good for dogs:

  • Basil
  • Beet tops
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots and carrot tops
  • Celery
  • Cilantro
  • Cucumber
  • Dandelion leaves
  • Green beans
