Adopt Jada

Hi there, I’m Jada, a stunning 7-year-old Sharpei and Swiss Shepherd mix and I’m currently looking for my forever home. I’m a retired therapy dog and was adopted a few months ago into what seemed like the perfect family, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out because I have a tendency to jump short fences. But that doesn’t mean I’m not the perfect dog for another family!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I absolutely love people and I’m a fantastic companion. I’m friendly, loving, and enjoy nothing more than being by my human’s side. While I might not be a great fit for a home with cats, dogs, or small children (calm, gentle kids over 12 are OK) I make up for it with my loyalty and affection towards my humans. My favorite thing is to put my paws on people’s knees while they are sitting and ask for armpit scratches. I love doing this with every adult I meet! While I’m no longer a therapy dog, I still enjoy cheering people up with my cute face and cuddles.

Now, I must admit, I do have some quirks that I’m working on. I struggle with separation anxiety and get anxious when my humans leave me alone. As you can imagine, it’s hard for me to feel safe and secure since I’ve had several homes. I have a high prey drive which means if I see a squirrel, rabbit, or other critter, I will chase them. I also tend to pull hard on the leash, which makes going for walks challenging, so it would be best if you have a secure fenced in yard where we can play and exercise together safely. So, as you can see, I have some growth areas and I’m hoping you can help me be the best dog I can be!

My ideal home is one where people are almost always around. It’s also important for me to have a yard enclosed by a six-foot fence, and no dogs, cats, or kids under the age of 12 in the home. I’d especially like to find a family that won’t mind playing with me in a yard instead of taking me on walks. I’ll be sure to keep all the pesky vermin out of your yard to earn my keep!

If you think your lifestyle and home could be a fit for my needs, please fill out an adoption application. I’m ready to find my forever home and I promise to love you with all my heart.
